location: Marrakesh, Morocco
Congratulations for making it all the way to the end of this post - of all the beautiful places I have been, Marrakesh has captured my heart in a way no adventure yet has managed, and all attempts to whittle this photo dump to anything less than ten pictures was entirely hopeless. Not only was the weather warm, but everything else was too - the people, the colors of the city, the sounds of the mosques calling everyone to prayer five times a day. There was a distinct liveliness mixed in with a slower pace of life, bringing a calm to my mind that I hadn't felt in ages. And like any experience, it didn't come without dubious moments of hesitation and anxiety, but all the happy and sun-dazed exploits far outshone the sour ones. I'm not sure I will ever be able to stop traveling, there's something incredibly intoxicating about finding myself in a new country, bumbling through terribly broken French, learning about a new culture but ultimately realizing that us humans really aren't all that different, even halfway around the world. The further I go from home the more I feel at home with myself.
